It is August 24, 1899 in Buenos Aires was born Jorge Luis Borges, Argentine poet, who died in 1986 in Geneva, and buried in the cemetery of the Kings. With cancer, this internationally recognized writer chose to return to Geneva where he had studied in the 20's. Many of his works have been adapted or used toinsiration the movies, including "Invasion," by Hugo Santiago, "the strategy of the spider" by Bernardo Bertolucci and "South" by Carlos Saura.
His 1941 short story 'The Garden of Forking Paths' is viewed by many as the basis for what we know today as the World Wide Web, and also he wrote "a massive branching structure as a better way to organize date and to represent human experience".
