USA: 5.8 magnitude earthquake felt in Washington and New York Tuesday, August 23, 2011

An earthquake measuring 5.8 was felt to 5:50 p.m. GMT Tuesday on the U.S. East Coast, including New York and Washington, the Pentagon has been evacuated, officials said corroborating sources. Other sources would have been the magnitude of 6, 2.


In Washington, the quake shook buildings for several seconds, noted journalists from AFP. The damage would be minimized by the official. Other replicas are possible according to some sources. The American Institute of Geophysics (USGS) said it was an earthquake of magnitude 5.8. An earthquake is considered "strong" from 6.
There have been another earthquake earlier in the day in Colorado and New Mexico, a magnitude 5.3 as well.
Earthquakes in recent weeks in the U.S. have multiplied. Fault New Madrid she would cause. Why not prevent people?
